    1. No-one has been able to suggest to me a way to eliminate the break which iTunes playback inserts between tracks on a DJ mix CD. Like an uninvited guest, it just happens. Crossfading is a silly gimmick with no real use and certainly doesn't address the problem. Choosing a time between tracks of 'zero' doesn't fix the problem either. If you can't burn the mixed CD as ONE track then you are out of luck.

    2. My iMac pauses occasionally, during playback - sound stops, as if taking a breath, the harddrive does something or other (?), then playback resumes. Asking the harddrive to NEVER shut down (in performance settings) does not correct the problem. Extremely annoying!

    3. Loss of function in iTunes vs the older Apple CD player: you can't 'rewind' thru a track and continue rewinding into the previous track. You can only rewind within the track you are playing and then must click on the previous track to rewind thru it. Annoying if what you are doing is studying how, on a mix CD, the artist skilfully blended track A into track B.

    Please fix these problems, guys!

    Just got here.
There is about 20 people. A lot of them look like they're in groups, though, so its hard to tell if 20 people = 20+ iPads already called for.

You gonna stay there and wait until 5?

The ORF (Olympus RAW) file has an identifier string for the camera, if this string doesn't match a camera on Apple's list of supported cameras, the file won't open. However if you go in and edit the string from "E-PL1" to "E-P2 ", Aperture will open it no problem. I even wrote a python/automator program to perform this on E-PL1 RAW files so they can be opened in Aperture.

Not recognizing the same format just because of a different model name? That's kinda stupid. Now Apple will have to keep putting out updates just to change a 1 to a 2 or something.

    Mudbug, thanks for responding! :)

I've never had any communication with anyone here other than through the forums, so I didn't look to see your private message. Yours is the only one I've ever received.

As a matter of fact there is NO notification of private messages in DailyTunes, so there is no way I would have seen it or even thought to look for it elsewhere.

I expected that the song would be simply deleted as requested.

Does she like Kate Spade stuff? They have a few different cases, both hard shell and rubber that my wife has been switching between lately.

A warning careful about the Kate Spade, its addictive if your girl likes them. They keep indtroducing new cases, the bastards, and my wife just keeps having to have them. Now she's up to 4 hard shell and a rubber case. Add that to the 3 different Blackberry pouches she bought from them plus the 20 or so purses over the last few years and I nearly have a Kate Spade store in my closet! But hey, she can match her personal electronics protectors with her purses. ;)

    Hello,

If you're in Europe, you may benefit from using Apple Europe (time.euro.apple.com) as your NTP server.

This may be set by default when you installed the system. If not, look under System Preferences > Date & Time.

See Apple's tutorial, "Your First iOS Application" (http://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#documentation/iPhone/Conceptual/iPhone101/Articles/00_Introduction.html). It teaches you to do almost exactly what you're asking for.

It would be extremely stupid for Apple to put in chips rated up to 1ghz in there and OC them to 1.25ghz. As the yields of the 1ghz G4 continue to rise (they should be since they've been pumping them out for 8 months), they're bound to get chips that pass at higher frequencies. Plus, the manufacturing techniques have probably improved so they get more and more fast chips.

So in conclusion, the dual-1.25ghz Macs will have G4s that are rated for 1.25ghz or higher.

Just curious about a couple things between this comparison. First off let me say that I've never really played a GTA game, and probably won't. The whole gang, modern day (non-sci-fi), PS crap graphics (personal taste here) doesn't appeal to me.

So should these games even be compared? They're both free roaming, but doesn't CD invite a whole other dimension (the climbing and powerups, etc..)? What makes GTA series better (from what I've read)? What's Crackdown missing?

I guess I'm about half way through CD and it's one of the most immersive and addicting games I've ever played in a long time.

I know CD has its flaws but what puts GTA on a higher level? Just wanted some thoughts from people who have played both. No petty fanboyism. :D

Yeah, I was thinking of going to the Mall. The guy in the Carphone Warehouse there told me they would get many more IPhones than the O2 store in the Mall, but he would say that!

Seeing as the Mall normally opens quite late (10am) in the day, do you think either of these stores will even be able to open early in the morning for the special launch?

I'm thinking the stores in Bristol centre might be a safer bet...

How would you be able to use it in your truck? Don't you need a WiFi connection or something?

    Sorry I'm clueless lol.

Well I presume he also has an iPhone, in which case he can link them together through personal hotspot and it would work.

That would be the only plausible explanation that I could think of.

Kernel Panic is (essentially) the equivalent of the Windows "Blue Screen of Death." It can be caused for a variety of different reasons.

What were you doing when you had the Kernel Panics? Has it happened more than once?

On the topic of Apple Store from 1997, does anyone have archives of old on-line www.apple.com from the years 1999-2004? I am interested in seeing those PowerPC ads from the last 10 years.. I know there is an archive of older www.apple.com websites showing the PowerMacs, PowerBooks, etc..
