Here is how to get it working without Java crap.
http://michelf.com/projects/multi-safari/
Just run Safari 4.05 :)
Works like it did b4.
Not sure about remote access to a lion host as I have not tested that.
awesome! been using that stupid java crap where my mouse is like 2 inches off.
and fyi accessing logmein on a lion host works but you need to make sure you have the host set to only go to screen saver and not sleep or sleep display. since lion now requires a physical mouse click to work logmein doesn't allow for waking the screen up and you can therefore not do anything. if it is just using a screen saver it works perfectly.

So my Iphone 3gs says it has no service I phoned Telus and he transfered me to apple and the person said i could get it replaced for $250 I was wanting to get the iphone 5 when it came out. So i was wondering if it would be worth it at that price and sell it when the iphone 5 comes out or should I just buy a Iphone 4 now.... I dont think a 3gs would sell very good when the Iphone 5 comes out.... so what do you people think would be a good route to take
If you get the 4, get the white one. It's selling at a far higher price than the black.
Get the white, sell it when the 5 comes out. And pay the minor difference.

I thought the same thing after i used my Mac exclusively for about a month or two then jumping back to Windows to do various things. Most of the time I wondered why it took me so long to minimize everything so i could see the desktop (I have it set now where I can move the mouse to he top right corner and everything flies away) and also why... well I'm just doing things at a slower rate in general.
I'm not talking about things that particularly need a lot of CPU and processing power to do , just things like opening Chrome then opening two folders takes a lot longer to do on a Windows computer compared to a Mac.
Quick Launch Bar? Shortcut to my computer on desktop or Quick bar? It shouldn't take ANY longer to do those things on Windows if you have it set up right. Launching an app and opening a folder isn't rocket science, after all. I find some things take too long in OSX. The start button and an organized menu there is faster than a dock applications (must hold button over it so it's longer). Start menu is just a shortcut menu; you can still leave apps wherever they are. In OSX, you'd have to actually put them in sub-directories (well I guess you could create a directory of aliases as shortcuts, but Applications points to the programs, so you'd have to roll your own) to organize giant lists of programs without having to scroll down large lists (I like organized short by subject). OTOH, install/uninstall/registry BYTES in Windows and of course you always have to wonder when doing financial transactions in Windows if you're being key logged or otherwise fuxored by some new undiscovered malware type threat. But if you want to play games, Windows is the only real choice for efficiency and selection. OSX gaming sucks and always will so long as Apple doesn't give a flying rat's patoot about it so I'm stuck keeping Windows around regardless if I like it or not.

have windows boxes talking to that server. also went and pinged it from several different domains/ips. no problems here.
what changed? was working? new install?
had a similar problem with two new install boxes. turned out to be a checkmark in the 'use IE settings' box. removed the check, restated the service, and it's been good since. just a thought.
stanford shows that server as up and functional. as of now.
good luck.

I figure I should clarify something, because no one else mentioned it.
The 6800 GT and the X850 XT are the same price because the X850 XT is faster, but it can only drive one 30'' display, the 6800 GT can drive two 30'' displays.

Thanks for the links again. I am trying to use apple's "Your First iOS Application" ( http://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#documentation/iPhone/Conceptual/iPhone101/Articles/03_AddingViewController.html) but I am encountering some problems.
I think the problem is something trivial but I cannot pinpoint the problem and would greatly appreciate someone's help.
I have 4 issues coming back in debug mode, as follows:
1. error: expected identifier or '(' before '@' token
2. error: '_myViewController' undeclared (first use in this function)
3. warning: property 'myViewController' requires method '-myViewController' to be defined - use @synthesize, @dynamic or provide a method implementation
4. warning: property 'myViewController' requires the method 'setMyViewController:' to be defined - use @synthesize, @dynamic or provide a method implementation

upper cache.. i was told by a friend that it is a way to download images to a computer only once, even though you may have it in many places. for example, a title bar. so it doesn't have to download the image again every time they go to a new page wasting your precious bandwidth. if anyone can tell me what it is better, how to do it, or where to find out how to do it, i would really appreciate it..

A link to what? A summary of Climategate? I'll let you flex your google-muscles on that one.

First result on google.
Well, look at that, overwhelming consensus that there was little to worry about in the leak except for some transparency issues, and that the science behind it is still as strong as ever.

There definitely are some different ideaologies about program design in switching from Windows to Mac (or vise versa) but general concepts are pretty much identical. If you're like me and started out on DOS (and still comfortable using the keyboard to do almost everything) you'll find it difficult to get around in MacOSX because menus simply do not activate when you hit the Alt (or Cmd) key. But of course most people started with graphical OSes and use the mouse more than I do, so it's an easy switch for them.
Just a few things I would suggest to keep in mind:
1) Mac's do support multi-button mice, they just don't ship with them. In my experience it's helpful to get one, otherwise you have to become proficient using a combination of the mouse and the keyboard to show context menus on desktop icons.
2) The PC's ALT key is the Mac's CMD ("open apple") key for the most part.
3) Most MacOS X programs do not fully exit when you close them, which allows them to "re-open" much faster. MacOS X, being a powerful UNIX system at its core, has GREAT memory management so it's okay to leave these active-but-not-visible programs running all day if you like.
4) If an app does lock up (it happened to me a few times in OSX 10.2 and only once or twice in 10.3) you can still click off that program window and then click onto the Apple menu at upper-left and select "Force Quit". This is very similar to Windows' Task Manager and allows you to kill a stuck program.
5) Check out sites such as www.versiontracker.com and http://osx.hyperjeff.net/Apps/types.php for lots of MacOS X freeware and shareware programs.
6) And yes, if you do have a friend or colleage who runs Mac and also has Windows experience, ask them to if they'd be willing to answer the questions you'll have. I cannot tell you how valuable that was for me in the first few weeks with my Macintosh.
Oh and 7) Keep in mind that this is not an either/or situation. You CAN have both a PC and a Macintosh. I run mind through a KVM (keyboard, video, mouse) switch so that I can run both side by side on my desktop with only one monitor, keyboard and mouse.

CIA you are correct that Boinc only provides hardware recognition to the project the Projects must each write a science app that can use the GPU for each platform. Looking at the BOINC alfa builds 6.10.xx set have GPU recognition turned on for OSX. Both ATI and Nvidia. Now when I asked the question on the SETI forums around the release of SL one of the GPU opti app writers said right now no one knows how to port the window or linux science app over to OSX 10.6. He said right now they are having difficulties writing the ATI GPU app for windows and linux. He said because OSX never supported it in the past no one has OSX experience porting to GPU and with the new API (Open CL). He said some of the folks doing CPU opti aps for OSX are peeking at it but not much is happening right now. Now if any one has friends at Apple I am sure the chief scientist and Dev crew would love for some help. A good place for them to ask in the Forums at seti and other projects you or they have an interest in.
Edit I would offer to help but I have no HW that supports GPU crunching at this time and I have done no programing in 20 years.
Programming is something I could never get my brain wrapped around, RAM leak I think... otherwise I would love to help out :apple:

The next update should be out soon, however I think they're putting a lot of emphasis on the MBA; it's priced the same and aside form the slightly lower specs, it's a bigger accomplishment technically but for the average consumer, the MBA is an attractive option.
Although I'm planning on getting a Pro as my next MB, I would love to see what they do do the new MB's... I'm (crosses fingers) really hoping for another black one :)

So... What should I know about SLI? Is it really worth it? It looks like the items posted above would support two GTX 560s?
Sorry for all the questions...
It's more future proffing then anything, Sli is for if you ever find your self not maxing games out you can buy a second GTX 560ti, dont worry the intel 2500k is an awesome cpu and can be over clocked to 4ghz without too much effort, I reccomend you invest in an ssd especially if your getting a MBA it just makes every thing alot faster for normal use.:D
