I'm sufficiently excited. Here's hoping for higher quality (than the current TV shows).
if there will be a true video ipod coming out in the nearer future apple is forced to offer better quality. Bigger screen=Better Quality
Apple offers these shows etc. for the ipod (the availability to use these on our computer is a freebie) thus the current quality is fine for the current ipod's screen.
I have a feeling any new videos being added to the store around the new ipod release will also likely be widescreen. This will be needed!!!

Interesting name, corroborates with the poster that came out earlier.
It also, obviously, fits with what's sure to be a very light product. Get it? Something in the air? Hah, I bet we can all tell who was the brainchild behind this...
Exactly why I dont think its going to be called the Macbook Air. Sounds like some sort of computer flatulence problem. "Yea got Macbook Air at the moment, hopefully the AppleCare will fix it"

This is a very special thread. :)
So who knows what will happen next week. I think I'd much rather buy movies from iTunes (hopefully QT 7 HD quality) or regular physical DVD than HD-DVD/Blu-Ray (way over-priced).

Any chance of updated MBPs? I'm looking to possibly buy one next month but I'm not sure if they're quite competitive enough yet. The major milestone I'm waiting on is HD screens. When Dell can give good quality HD screens in cheaper laptops with equivalent specs (MacOSX notwithstanding), I'm not sure I could part with my money that way. (BTW, when I say HD, I mean 1920x1080, not some bull 720 stuff or anything).
On a related note, Leopard is said to be due "in Spring", so between Mar-May - will I get a free upgrade to Leapord if I buy a MBP in Feb? Or will I be up for another $220 in a month? :(

I recall some of the naysayers around here not even a year ago stating that such a device would never be suitable for gaming. And here we are. With HD output to your TV.
Vision, people. Vision.
How does your vision plan to implement any non-steering games on the big screen? You can either look at your iPad, or look at the television. There is a reason physical buttons are important for big screen gaming. Touch screen gaming will always suck for anything more than flinging birds into bricks.

BTW: I dont know why we believe a word out of Brian Tong's mouth. He's probably the most worthless person on CNET. Brian Cooley is where its at!

I much prefer this approach to advertising, the "If you don't have an iPhone" ad was just horrible.

like i submitted and you ignored completely...they are of the aluminum build which would make it appear to be on the PRO side. Why would they build something identical to the current macbook???

They will either skip it altogether or perhaps replace all USB 2 ports with USB 3 ones (thus keeping TB as the "advanced" FW equivalent)...
I could see them replacing USB 2 with 3 (in Ivy Bridge) as they did with 1 and 2.
It will be interesting to see what they do as far as iPhone and iPad connectivity when both USB 3 and TB available. My guess would be to use USB 3 and be backwards compatible with USB 2. I doubt they would use TB as I think there would be very few Windows machines and Macs out there with it.
If that turns out to be the case, hopefully there will be a TB to USB 3 adapter to take advantage of the highest speeds the device is capable of.
But then again, none of this stuff is really THAT important:)
We'll see what happens.

Well said.
Yeah it's definitely been taken care of, both owners kept it for quite a few years each, both only putting about 6,500 miles a year on it. You can tell it's been garaged likely its whole life because the headlights and tail lights aren't hazy from sun exposure.
I remember when these cars were just 1-2 years old, basically factory fresh, and I would go to the dealer and drool over them under the lights at night--ones just like this, with these 17" wheels and leather. I've always loved them, and probably always will. I'm also a fan of the 5L cars, and the thirdgen F-bodies of the day (I own a thirdgen Camaro too).
I really can't wait to get it.:)
My Dad bought a '96 brand new back when I was about 12. Pacific Green Metallic with Gray leather. It wasn't fully loaded, but it was a GT, 5 Speed. Had almost everything, but it didn't have the Mach 460 or the 17" wheels. He didn't have it for very long, but I have lots of fond memories of it and I've always kinda wanted to get one and it looks like you've found a gem in that black one. VERY nice car. It's amazing how good of shape it's in.

Why is a congressman getting involved in this? So ridiculous. This information has been stored by the cell companies for years. Now I can access my own. So what.
And all this worry about being hacked or someone else looking at my computer. If they take my computer they can also see a ton of other personal stuff about my life. Just like stealing or going through my wallet.
This is just the media blowing something out of proportion to make a story. So dumb.

Looks like same basic layout, after you get past the iMovie-likeness.
Also, no more render dialogue and it uses all cores to render. :)

$1 cases on eBay is good enough to protect from scratches IMO.
Any case that covers it protects from scratches other than slides, I think.
We need more of a definition than prevents scratches. That slims it down to most cases.

What was the checkout like? Did you have to go through their checkout? I'm always suspicious of those places, and am concerned that they're using unsecured special checkouts and/or are stealing identities. And I'm not usually a suspicious person.
But it's hard to resist for $1.00. The Griffin Reveal I bought was a ridiculous $25.
Do these fit on the cases snugly or are they kind of loose?
Yea, it was through paypal, so I'm pretty sure it's safe. Wired transfer on the other hand can be shady. It fits pretty well actually, you would've thought they were loose! But they are not bad for $1!

Full screens apps now have a transition-drop down menubar rather than one that covers up the top of the application now.

I picked up a 13.3" MacBook Pro this morning, and this is the current setup before I move the Mini back to the corner that it lived in before and grab it's monitor for the MBP...

No, Microsoft have not got it right. There should be no need for a specific tool to uninstall applications. applications should be self-contained and be deletable with the press of a button
Many applications work this way on Mac, some developers still put related files into various other locations though unfortunately...
Uhm, not every app can be self-contained, and it's even in Apple's documentation that you need to store your plists OUTSIDE of the App container and in the Library folder instead.
And that makes sense, because for example, there are apps that need to save settings. If you store these settings inside the app, the next time your user updates it the settings are overwritten.
I hate it how dragging a Mac App to the trashcan leaves plists and other files scattered around.

Other Animal species have bisexual relationships so it must be natural.
Other Animal species also are involved in cannibalism and random out breaks against their own kind, so in our species we shouldn't prohibit murder either, its natural.
Umm..what? All of those things you just mentioned involve victimization of others. If two consenting adults want to be together, there is no harm done to them or you. There's nothing wrong or harmful about gay people. You're being utterly ridiculous.
BTW- you're talking to one. So I appreciate that you use fair comparisons, and stop comparing me and others like me to cannibals and murderers.
