This is exactly why I turn 3G off on my iPhone. The reception in Edinburgh is appalling - I walk around the city and my phone is constantly skipping between GPRS and 3G. And sometimes it'll just say "No Service" until I turn 3G off and it forces GPRS connection.
I think the iPhone has really outlined the flaws and poor reception that carriers have in some major areas.

If the feature set were right I would definitely think about buying one. I'm in the market for a new TV (current TV is 20 years old.) I'd probably wait for the second generation though since everyone knows not to buy a first generation Apple product.

1. HELLO, the current ones are old already, they are bound to have better batteries. Its been a year. a year ago that was the best apple could do. Its not the best anymore.
2. If this is a VIDEO IPOD... 2hrs-3hrs of battery life for videos, sure as hell wont cut it. the current ipod makes video as more of a cool feature as opposed to MAIN feature. music was most important.
I see what you are saying however there were PMP's that came out the same time as the 5G iPod that gets 5 hours out of video from a removable battery with a 4in screen. When the iPod color came it had the same battery life as the monochrome ipod. So if history is a good indication of the past then the next ipod will have similar specs out of a larger screen machine? But I could be wrong.
I think for Apple to be competitive in the pmp market against the best currently out now they need to do a few thing. The main thing this is have a player that gets 5 hours or more of video with 25hours of audio. Then they need to have video recording if they want to compete with the likes of the Cowon A2, and Archos AV500 series. And then there is the open source Digital Cube V43 with its touch screen and linux/unix based.

The T-Mobile deal isn't a for sure thing. Likely, but the FTC could block it. Also, as the article states T-Mobile's towers use a different frequencies.

Can anyone confirm if the battery life has improved?
Unfortunately, no! My wife's 3GS lost 33% overnight after a full charge :(
I just did the normal update. Next I am going to try to just install 4.3.2 and setup as new and not restore any data and see if stock install still has issue to rule out some corrupt setting/data.

It's possible but they better not do this (not release such a product). I WANT this.
I'm still not too sure how gestures would work to control such a device unless there was a camera.
Imagine you are in an airport trying to get your tablet to open up by swinging your arm up and down in front of your computer's camera.

To those waiting for iPhone 5: Do we know when that'll be? Last rumor was Sept right? I'm not in the market, the sooner it comes the sooner I'll want to replace my iPhone4. It'd be nice for them to stay on schedule every June/July.

Maybe you should just keep your daughter out of public bathrooms. The reality is that she has already shared a public bathroom with a transgender person, a lesbian, a criminal, someone who is a different ethnicity than she is, etc....And apparently she is still whole.

You do know there are clear cases used to protect the phone from scratches, right? And rigid "bumper" style cases that still show off the front and back. Not every case covers up the entire phone.

Are people firing up their lawyers because Apple does not update their iPhone 3G that came with iOS 3 when they bought it in june 2010 ? Doesn't the licence flyer in the box say Apple will supply the current iOS version +1 ?
