Are people firing up their lawyers because Apple does not update their iPhone 3G that came with iOS 3 when they bought it in june 2010 ? Doesn't the licence flyer in the box say Apple will supply the current iOS version +1 ?
What??
What??

Record-breaking quarters and the position as the trend-setter in consumer tech.
These legal skirmishes haven't and won't result in any major untoward changes to Apple products. We all know this already.
Agreed.
That and Apples incredible profit is what makes them look so paranoid, petty, and stupid.
Instead of acting like the world class company they could be, Apple comes across as fools.
I must admit, I'm much happier being seen with my Galaxy S.
When one is seen in this town (New York) with an iPhone they look at you like "oh, you're one of those snobs".
Yet the irony is they're a dime a dozen here.

Look a the bright side. You are also stuck with Plutonius.
Right you are. Can we vote Appleguy out of the afterlife if he starts annoying me?

How does one buy stock anyway? (from the UK)
I have absolutely no idea on the subject, is it just a matter of buying a share at a couple of hundred dollars, watching Apple go through one of its "win" moments then selling it for a little profit ($50 or whatever) just as a starter? What about tax?

An eleven-year-old boy in Northern California accidentally downloaded (http://www.necn.com/06/05/10/Boy-accidentally-downloads-99900-Smart-p/landing.html?blockID=247714) the $999.99 BarMax bar exam preparation application (iTunes link (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/barmax-ca/id345722008?mt=8)) using an iPod touch. He didn't mean to make the purchase and was surprised when it started to download the 1GB app. His mother was equally shocked, especially after she learned the price and that her son had not been prompted for an iTunes password.
They paused the download and went to an Apple store but were told that the store couldn't help. However, the boy's mother then emailed Apple and received a return phone call telling her that they would receive a full refund.

If there is one thing Amazon doesn't need to worry about - it's the lawyers, they got plenty of them!
Plus, even if they charge a bit more to recoup the costs - they have huge advantage in that a) they are already there and b) they aren't cloud n00bs with one freshly baked data center close only to the US :)
And who said anything about Apple devices? Apparently, not many people are concerned (http://www.androidcentral.com/nielsen-android-americas-most-wanted-platform) about that one :p
every cheap phone you get on your carrier has android installed. it's not really a fair comparison when all the cheap phones that people get free already include that OS. it's not really preferred....

I've not seen any word on if one could use the new iMacs as an external display like you could previously. A 27" display with a "built in" quad core media server for the price of a core 2 duo mini is sounding really good right now!

You don't need Rosetta, iOS is Intel 64 native. You get a copy with Xcode called the Simulator.
The problem is that all iOS app store binaries are ARM and not x86. Devs could provide a second build for the simulator but they would have to do it for all of their old apps.
Maybe there will be a touchscreen MBA with both an intel and an arm processor that can run iOS apps in fullscreen alongside other Mac apps...

Very nice pictures. Looks like an "inside job"
A quote from the AppleInsider article:
Along with the filing, the traditionally tight-lipped Apple made a request for confidentiality to the FCC, one which was apparently denied.
"These documents contain detailed system and equipment description and related information about the product that Apple Computer, Inc. considers to be proprietary, confidential, and a custom design and, otherwise would not release to the general public," Apple EMC and wireless engineer Mike Kreige wrote.
Denied? Apparently so!

Not a surprise, even amazon charges a small fee for a decent amount of storage.
Yes, but it'll probably be the other way round here a - large fee for a poor amount of storage/quality of features.

Not sure if it has been said, but, changes for iChat - any chance of proper MSN support? I never got the jabber workaround to work reliably for long, but it would be sooo nice to be able to use the built-in app, just like when they finally did Exchange support in Mail. I can dream.

Add a third option, 24" with a 16:10 ratio and a matte option. Easier on the eyes and more vertical space. The 27" was murder on my eyes and I had to sell mine.

What an amazing piece of machinery this will be. I am looking forward to acquiring the 27" "low" end.. which will surely last for years given their specs. The only downside would be the lack of SSD but that's understandable given their price/GB. Nevertheless, these iMacs will be blazing fast and a joy to operate.

This is the absolute worst winter in the New England states that I can recall. I am disenchanted by any more snow and look forward to some warmth. The symbolism is in the image!
I understand exactly, seems what misses us you get if your closer to the coast and the other way around, lovely color in the photo to brighten the mood though :)
