You do know there are clear cases used to protect the phone from scratches, right? And rigid "bumper" style cases that still show off the front and back. Not every case covers up the entire phone.

having just gone insane as a mac newbie - i went all out and brought myself lots n lots of apple products this winter

Mini is on C2D because wasn't room (in case or pricepoint) for dedicated gpu.
Now that SB is out with an integrated gpu on par with the 320M you'll see it in the Mini soon enough.
+1 eventually mac mini will be updated same goes to white macbook also

Oh Apple Mail has a To Do list. And Notes. But the Calendar is a separate app, as is the Address Book. So why not also have a separate To Do and Notes application? Oh, because they're stored as special formatted email messages in Mail.app, that's why. So how about integrating Calendar and Address Book better in Mail. It's a mess.

2. Apple sends 1000 of their engineers that you can talk with. Who is Google sending? How accessible are they?
3. WWDC is more days.
Number 2 above is one of the reasons that it would be difficult to move to a larger venue. It might accommodate more people, but the real value is getting to talk with Apple engineers and ask questions. If they made the venue larger, your chances of getting to talk with them becomes slim. It's a tough problem to solve.

$20/year is a reasonable charge, but it seems terribly disproportionate to the $99/year for MobileMe. I'm guessing if there's any validity to this rumor, we'll see some price restructuring for MobileMe. At least I'd hope so.
