One word. Macworld.
I sold half of my shares in the company the day before Macworld at an astounding price. I personally feel for whoever the buyer was, as they paid well over what my shares were worth that day (wrongly anticipating a spike after Macworld). I, however, have had a close eye on the rumors and Apple's business model as of late. I anticipated several elements that came to frutition, and now still having half of my Apple stock, I about broke even. Until Apple soars high again :). First really insightful stock market decision I've ever made.
Buy now :-) Thats my $0.02

If true, it could be absolutely huge. Truly landmark. Imagine if Apple could somehow do the the TV industry what they did to nearly every other industry (segment) they're in?
The possibilities are pretty astounding. This is the Apple of folks. They have the money, drive, talent and momentum to get into any market and shake things up with a very good chance of success, and make the established players look totally flat-footed in the process.
We should let the NUMBERS (or $$$) speak for themselves.
Absolutely not likely to happen. It will happen only if they somehow price the TV at say like $500.
Apple seems to be really enjoying making people buy new iphone/ipad every 1 or 2 years. At $500 or so, it's easier for consumers to swallow. And the consumer knows he/she will spend a lot of time using it.
At $1000 - $2000 (TV with profit margin Apple likes), # of people willing and able to pay that every 1 - 2 years goes down alot.
And let's not forget Apple won't enter a market if they don't get to have a huge profit margin.

Fry has serious adulation for Apple products. No surprise he did the black to white conversion with the phone.
Wow, really? So he's got a White iPhone 4? Did you see it?

To everyone else here.. it's a mock-up, which means it's not real. I think we all know Apple wouldn't release one that looks like the mock-up.The iPad 2 says you're wrong.

My point is that the numbers you're touting are not as big as you make them out to be.
Second, sure htc would be closer to apple sales if they had four products as strong as thunderbolt. But they don't so it's completely irrelevant.
Kenmore would have sales competing with apple if they had several phones as successful as the thunderbolt
You have to think that the thunderbolt has a slight negative thing about it that is hindering its sells. The battery life.

it looks to me that we are still ranked 59. and the next group is about to pass us!
but yes, talking about it more here helps out quite a bit. the more we interact here, the better
We lost our spot again. We passed Team Lithuania for a brief time as yesterday was a big day for us and a bad one for them.

Just ruined my freakin day. I was really hoping it would be an added benefit instead of a paid feature.
A rumor of a $20 annual fee ruins your day?

I have a black iPad2 64gb Verizon that I picked up at Brea Mall this morning.
Looking to trade for black iPad2 64gb AT&T.
NEW IN BOX...NOT OPENED...I EXPECT THE SAME FROM YOU.

ROFL! No one in their right mind is going to swap an AT&T for a Verizon model when the GSM models are in such short supply.
Also, though I know none of them read Macrumors, I'd like to sneak a moment of catharsis by sending out a big karmic f_ck you to all the scalpers who stood in line on Friday and bought out all the GSM models to ship and sell them overseas.
Anyway, off to order my GSM version online, and then to enjoy my Verizon white 32GB at work while I'm not drafting contracts & wills.

LOL you didn't even know about the outage until i posted a link. now it was just some tiny network glitch that wasn't the run of the mill ;)
did i ever say apple's was gonna be the biggest and the baddest? the funny thing is....i use amazon vod all the time on my roku....so naw, i'm not really an apple fanboy but thanks for assuming.
Then what the hell was the point in your little rant?! Your whole argument was based on a rare outage. My original point was that Amazons 10 datacenters will work better than Apples 1...my point still stands.
FYI: I was very aware of the outage. I run a cloud virtualization (Xen based) company built on S3, GoGrid and Rackspace.

Might get this, might not. Don't do contracts so it would be a simple case of buying and selling. Something most people I know do. You lot (Americans) should start doing the same and stop being beholden to 24 month contracts.
Good pont London, I don't do contracts either, but I don't think the telcoms here in the US of Corporations will let us go with the UK plan. And if we do go on a 24 month contract I do believe that there is no cost reduction after the equipment is "paid" for. That is the 25 month cost the same as the 24th month.

I voted "yes" becuase I'm concerned what this will do PR-wise for Apple, not so much about actual security concern. "LMH" may claim he's not an Apple-hater but a few things poke out from the interview:
The Linux kernel takes little time to break. I'm more familiar with the code and thus it also takes less time to isolate issues. OS X kernel (XNU) takes less time but depending on the area you're checking, debugging and isolation may require a bit more time (if you take into account that AppleTalk source code is almost unreadable and totally deprecated) [...] I didn't have much time left for working on Microsoft Windows but I've received the most helpful feedback from the MSRC people on potentially interesting stuff to check.
