I'd prefer a clean modern OS with usability first and foremost.
Who says they haven't? Maybe the iCal developers are so solidly done that they are dinking around with skins now?
And out of curiousity, what does a "modern OS" look like anyway? Is there some standard or generally accepted look for that? Or perhaps by "modern" you mean "not done before" ? I'm honestly curious about the answer to this.

Both Apple and Amazon want to be your one-stop shop for media. If you're purchasing your music from one of them, they hope that you'll also purchase your movies, tv shows, and e-books from them as well.
Amazon has an even greater incentive because of everything else they sell. They'll gladly take a profit hit on a song if it means that buyer will come back and buy a stereo (or an iMac!)

Also, like most hybrids, they are born sterile so it really would be the last of the line... :D

I have owned all 4 Iphones and though this white iphone looks awesome it is nothing new... where is the Iphone 5? or Iphone 4gs? no one really cares about the new color... Iphone fans want the new and improved phone! now i agree the iphone 4 is still way up there on the totem pole but still just like the Iphone 3g the Iphone 3gs brought few but much wanted additions to a phone. i think a Iphone 4gs is a must if not then build the iphone 5 but dont leave us dry with the same phone with a different color. i do belive that should of been done like a year ago when you first released the iphone 4. I highly doubt apple will recieve a hug growth in sales with this.... :mad:

If 30 million people like the song "My Hero" by Foo Fighters, 30 million people don't need to upload that same song. I predict the service will scan your library and then say "We've found 750 out of 775 matching tracks" and possibly allow you to upload the tracks that are not on iTunes. So instead of uploading 775 songs, you would only have to upload 25 songs.

I've just downloaded the update on mymiPhone and iPad and i noticed in the General Setings now there is a multitouch gestures button to enable this function. It suports 4 fingers up to show the app switcher, 4 fingers to the sides to switch apps and 5 fingers to the centre to go to the home screen.
It works great!

Both AAC (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advanced_Audio_Coding#Licensing_and_patents) and MP3 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MP3#Licensing_and_patent_issues) have licensing fees. It's also a complete mess on the MP3 licensing side.

Nothing as serious as a $1k purchase, but my (almost) two year old purchased an album from iTunes, by accident, on my iPad last week. I used the "report a concern" link that was on my receipt to report the problem. I got an email from an Apple rep the next day saying that they would give me a refund, but it would be a "one time exception."

I had the receipt and they were added to my history, and after a few emails back and forth with store support (who were actually quite apologetic, for Apple) I got a refund. Then a few weeks later, randomly, the albums started downloading. Very weird situation, but I guess something went buggy briefly when I submitted my purchases - and I'm only posting this in case someone accidentally purchases stuff in the future, it seems that doing that is more likely to result in Apple issuing you your refund.

Crashes these days are pretty rare, and are usually caused by attempts to access strange areas of memory, or driver problems. I have an XP box running a couple of web containers, and a few app servers; aside from a driver hiccup, never had a crash or secret reboot (and I would know, because I would still need to log back in when I got back from the water cooler).
Also, just as a side note...it took them three years to create the version you're talking about. I'm not stating this for argument—it's only here as additional info.

Usually, when a new technology comes out from Apple like Thunderbolt, (mini display port in look a like), I usually think "Why would other "non" Apple manufactures like WD, Promise etc... adopt Thunderbolt? as USB 3.0 or eSATA is their bracket... where as Apple likes to keep to themselves only tailoring to their own devices (eg. using WDS (or extenting wireless via Airport Express), for example. is not possible unless you have Time Capsule (Apple) )

Since Intel is a major supplier of MBs to PC box manufacturers it can more easily push TB than Apple could FW. Moreover USB 3 is an Intel creation too so it has even greater power to play puppet master.

I guess I have the opposite view of this since I will buy from iTunes as long as they continue to provide a lossless format--and Amazon provides only a lossy format. That is more important to me than a slight price difference. AAC plays on anything I need to play it on--and it could be converted to another lossless format such as FLAC if you really wanted to get out from under Apple's proprietary format. I am also a huge Amazon fan and a Prime member and buy a lot of stuff from them--but not MP3s.
Umm Apple formate they sell in is still a lossy formate...... So much for that reasoning.

Perhaps. But it should be noted that at one time Apple didn't have any interest in making different sizes/models of iPods either. Or CDMA phones. Point being, things change.
Those models have very distinct differences. A nano is very different from a touch, which are both different from a shuffle, etc. For each iDevice paradigm, it has clear differences between the other products and market segments.
CDMA is a poor example because it's transparent to the user. It has almost 0 effect on user experience and does not even begin to identify a product category.

It wouldn't be too difficult for Apple to provide something like Rosetta for iDevice apps.
You don't need Rosetta, iOS is Intel 64 native. You get a copy with Xcode called the Simulator.

As a typical consumer, same as a prosumer, or pro -- speed. For example, backing up your iDevice, importing big megapixel photos and HD videos will be a whole lot quicker.
It will also make connections easier as TB can handled video, audio, and data in the same cable.
