My MBP has been having some strange issues lately, so I've pulled the plug on Folding to see if that helps stabilize the system. That'll drop me out of the top 10 pretty quickly, what with all there crazy numbers some of you guys are posting. Ought to drop my PPD to about 1,400 or so.

Er, no. That doesn't follow from my logic at all. The poster was asking for proof that this russian site had any kind of problems with the labels "you have no idea what money goes where" or words to that effect were used. The fact that they are in court proves there is a dispute, not guilt.
I'd be happy to break the argument out for you in formal logic if you are familiar with the logical languages?

I had to finally register to comment on the hypocrisy in this and many other threads like it. Because some people want frame rates for gaming on an MBA, then your needs for GPU performance are valid, and others who don't game but could use CPU performance have invalid needs? Rubbish.
A perfect example is the above. So the C2D rates as a 100/100 for CPU performance and thus any improvement is useless? Really?! Nice to see that you framed the argument such that any improvement you don't see as needed is useless.
On Sunday I combined 6 or 8 short 720p video clips into a 7 minute video for YouTube with a simple title screen and transitions. It took the C2D ~40 minutes to process the video and save in a new format. So you're really going to argue that there is nothing to be gained from a significant bump in processor speed?
For me and many other potential MBA purchasers, a CPU bump from the media processing abilities of the Core i processors would be welcome, and GPU performance over and above the ability to play real-time HD video is useless. We shouldn't be saddled with an out-of-date processor or forced to subsidize "unnecessary" frame rate performance just to appease game-players. And that perspective is as valid as yours.

Now, you were complaining I used 100/100 in the CPU analogy? fine, I will change it. CPU will be 90/100 and GPU is 80/100 as the 30% increase in cpu and 30% decrease in gpu, we will see a difference of 117/100 and 56/100. Am I arguing that there will be nothing to be gained from a bump in processor speed? Definitely not! Who doesnt love the little extra power when we need it? Who doesnt want the latest in tech? What im saying is that the downgrading of the GPU outweights the upgrading of the CPU in terms of OVERALL performance.
Futhermore HT and Turbo dont work 100% of the times.

I have been under the impression that the iphone would be released sometime at the end of the year, with verzion having had gotten the iphone 4 in febuary, i couldn't see it coming out any time soon

Well after looking it up several reports state that about 130 countries have US occupied bases that are active... The point is we are overextended.

According to the Defense Department's annual "Base Structure Report" for fiscal year which itemizes foreign and domestic U.S. military real estate, the Pentagon currently owns or rents 702 overseas bases in about 130 countries and HAS another 6,000 bases in the United States and its territories. Pentagon bureaucrats calculate that it would require at least $113.2 billion to replace just the foreign bases -- surely far too low a figure but still larger than the gross domestic product of most countries -- and an estimated $591,519.8 million to replace all of them. The military high command deploys to our overseas bases some 253,288 uniformed personnel, plus an equal number of dependents and Department of Defense civilian officials, and employs an additional 44,446 locally hired foreigners. The Pentagon claims that these bases contain 44,870 barracks, hangars, hospitals, and other buildings, which it owns, and that it leases 4,844 more.
These numbers, although staggeringly large, do not begin to cover all the actual bases we occupy globally. I kind of feel like they are releasing this now so that they have something to hold everyone over for the iPhone 5. It is possible that Apple is going to release the iPhone 5 late in the year or early 2012 so the next one can be LTE. We all know how Apple likes to take there time adopting new technology. *cough* no 3g in 1st gen iPhone *cough* ;)

That'll be the standard D-Link DBT-120 (or successor) which is the only bluetooth transceiver hardware officially supported by Apple (it's essentially the same as the built-in hardware)

No one will know that until they try installing Windows on a VM.
The implication from Paul Thurrott's comments via daveschroeder above is that it isn't a tecnological limitation, but I agree with you that it shouldn't be hard to detect VM or not. I would presume the first place they'd go is for the DRM and thus eliminate lots of what people would like to do by running Windows in a VM on a Mac.

my fear is the democrats will try to use this a political gain and that is so very wrong both to the military and for this good event.
It turns a great event into worthless BS. It was just luck of the draw that a Dem was in power when this happen and it was only a matter of time. I already am watching some people try to turn it into political gain and it makes me sick.

It would be interesting to compare Fibre Channel with Thunderbolt. Apart from TB integrating video, TB looks a lot like an evolution of Fibre Channel.
Hum, you have no idea what Fiber channel is if you seriously claim that. Fiber channel is a networking protocol for storage essentially, Thunderbolt is a host based technology. Call me when Thunderbolt can be switched, redundant, do LUN provisioning and can be extended over a MAN to offer multi-site storage.
