As first noted in a HardMac forum post (http://forum.hardmac.com/index.php?showtopic=159&st=0&p=917&#entry917), it appears Microsoft is specifying in its license agreements that the ability to operate in a virtualized environment is prohibited in Home Basic and Home Premium editions, leaving users to have to purchase either the Business or the Ultimate versions of the software to legally run in a virtualized environment.
Mac users have found virtualization solutions such as Parallels Desktop a good way to switch between Mac OS X and Windows. This latest news from Microsoft may inhibit some use of the software as Business and Ultimate editions range from $300-400 verses Home Basic's $200 price point (prices (http://www.macrumors.com/pages/2006/08/20060829093154.shtml)).

I will not use any cloud stuff anyway, if it's free or not doesn't matter. No need for government and corporations to gather even more data on everybody. It's a sour pill wrapped in a thin layer of sugar. Everybody embracing this cloud stuff seems to either be not very well informed or simply doesn't value freedom and the simple democratic rule of "innocent until proven otherwise".

You know what's funny? I've had ATT for over 5 years and have barely had 5 dropped calls and one of them was an iphone OS issue with OS 2.0. I live in the Silicon Valley so maybe coverage is just exceptionally good in my area, though I recall coverage being decent over in the Adirondacks in NY two years ago.

Of course there is. iOS runs on two currently available Apple smartphone models: 3GS and 4. The iOS that runs on these phones is sufficiently different in feature sets from the iOS that runs on Tablets, media consumption devices, and Apple TVs:
-Larger resolution on tablets
-Communications handled separately - No phone app or visual voicemail on Tablet or iPod Touch
-No installable apps on Apple TV
I think you already understand the differences. You just would like to lump everything together so that it seems that Apple still has dominant marketshare.
Pretty disingenuous use of statistics, if you ask me..
You are honestly trying to act as if slight hardware and software features and differences make it a completely different platform, regardless of whether or not it has an effect on applications? Seriously? That's like saying Android devices from different manufacturers can't be lumped together because of different resolutions or skins.
EDIT: Also, I was only mentioning that AppleTV technically runs iOS, not that it should be officially be counted.
The only thing disingenuous is to try and compare an entire platform against a single device in a platform and call it fair.

I don't know how much personally he has, if he even has any, but MS used to own some. It was part of an agreement where Apple agreed to use IE and not sue them in exchange for the promise that Office would still be developed. They bought a sizable amount of stock in Apple, but they were the non-voting variety, so they couldn't get a say in anything. They sold it off some years later when they could, at a large profit I might add.
That was back when Apple wasn't doing so good and MS were feeling the heat from the DOJ.

Amazon sells mostly LAME encoded 256kbs mp3 files, which are pretty comparable to the AAC files ITMS sells. AAC may have a slight advantage (for example see http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/271330/256-vbr-aac-vs-320-mp3-vs-256-vbr-mp3#post_3459768), but not much.
