What's that supposed to mean? You're not specials but you're still special? Maybe in the sense that you both are wolves?
How could we be wolves if you are one, and there are only two?

Sorry, I'm actually being sarcastic, but you will find a lot of users here who behave just as I have described. You'd think that they sat on the board of directors. I agree with you, competition is good and it is good to be open minded and not have blind loyalty to one company. But the majority here will disagree with that.

LOL pretty sad when I couldn't read that as sarcasm as it is not unheard of that people are like that on this board.

Also, Apple is Evil and you are living in Steve Job's RTF.

    and... and... 4G.

    and... widgets.

Okay, now you're just antagonizing people...lol

Widgets? Blah...waste of time/space IMO. 4G? No carrier yet has true 4G. Sprint I guess? They're the closest. Most the others are all 3.5G

So instead, the new sidebar pushes into the image, reducing it in size, and requiring you to expand the width ( ) of the window if you want to keep the image the same size. I don't really see the overall difference. I suppose it comes down to whether you prefer the images to get slightly smaller, or the tray to suddenly cover over other things.

Not just me then. Typed whilst I was mid rant too. :)

I guessing you been living under a rock.. Because my Truck CD Player plays AAC, PS3, Xbox360, PSP, DSi, 3DS, my wife and daughter's Android phone all play AAC.. The list can go on... Google is your friend....

So because YOUR head unit plays AAC so that means he's living under a rock and has no point?

I bought a JVC head unit about two years ago that had front-panel USB and iPod support and despite not being listed with WMA and MP3 on the faceplate it supported AAC. But even so, it did not support VBR AAC from USB thumb drives or CDs (iPod stuff was just passed through, so it didn't count). Thus, if I used my 256kbps AAC without VBR (my entire CD library was already converted to that), everything would be fine, but if I used a stock purchased AAC track from the iTunes store (which is 256 VBR), it would NOT play (MP3 VBR was supported, though). How many head units support Apple Lossless right now? How many advertise AAC support even when they have it (my new WRX plays AAC from the factory, but they don't exactly advertise it).

So while support has increased, especially since Apple finally ditched the DRM on music, there's no guarantee on every piece of equipment out there whereas MP3 is pretty much guaranteed to be everywhere and you can even buy used gear and it will still work.

The Might Mouse is the worst piece of crap Apple has ever released. Everyone knows it!

The only reason anyone would buy this thing is because of blind Apple brand loyalty.

That and the fact that it matches my iMac better than any other mouse. But still, I'll use my Logitech wired until Apple can come up with a decent mouse. Form only gets you so far.

be satsisfied with what you have when you needed it... i got my 17" MBP only 3 weeks ago with no regrets and i love this thing, i don't need all that's there in the update, what i have now will suffice until the next time i need a new computer :D :D :D
I guess the point is that for some people this represents a considerable long term investment (like me) and they want to get the most modern hardware available if it will have to last years.
Worth noting that the projected clock speeds of Intels future laptop CPU's are not significantly faster, so there may yet be a "motorola effect"

    1) I own both.

They are rectangular and have icons on home screens.

There's only so much one can do with smart phone styling.

It's not like Apples on the verge of going out of business.

    Much ado over nothing.

Like a teenage bully, Apples beyond stupid.

    2) You actually believe clueless sales people?

The fact that "there's only so much you can do with smart phone styling" does not give one company the inalienable right to copy another's patents, or blur the line between their product and the one which they're trying to copy.

The size of Apple's bank account has nothing to do with this. Disney has sued much smaller companies in the past, and won. Because the courts recognize the need to protect valuable intellectual property, even when sofa lawyers don't.

Whether I believe clueless sales people or not is irrelevant. Clueless consumers often do. How else can you explain Android's rise? (zing! :o).

Wondering if were going to have a game or not?

It's better to wait longer before starting if you get more players (should at least have 15).

"Don't Panic" said he will play but I didn't see his name on the list.

I'll play and bring some popcorn in anticipation of another "Don't Panic" / Aggie argument :).

Note: I have a bunch of work coming up so I may not be as active (posting) as usual :(.

While I am happy with it for myself, I know it is rather (ok, very) cliche to post a duck shot

Sorry, but what's wrong with duck posts??? Especially one that's as good as this? Nice "head room." I like it!

Apple contributes about 4% to samsung annual revenue. And how many of apple product line use apple components? Like 95% (pure guess)?

And that is reason enough that Samsung should be allowed to rip off Apple products? - I don't think so.

The Gartner report released yesterday had Dell and HP virtually tied for first place with 17.2% market share each (HP ever so slightly higher) and the IDC one had HP 300k units (or 0.2%) ahead.

Dell are still #1 in the USA, but even there the gap narrowed, from Dell having a 2.2 million unit lead in the previous quarter to a 1.5 million unit lead in the quarter just ended.

HP are really leaping ahead. I expect they will take the US #1 spot back from Dell sometime next year.

Oh my... Showing signs of a dying Dell... Apple is looking good at the moment though.

If Apple grabs even 10% of the Market, I reckon we will see a lot more software ported to OSX (namely games).

I'm porting all my code over to OSX, so will be on of those converts.

    Aaaand in 3 ... 2 ... 1:

    REALITY CHECK.

This is why I posted my comment correcting your innaccurate assumption that "the iPod is still Apple's cash cow".

The funny part is that I was in no way "defending" the iPod, since I don't have one at the moment and was just as annoyed at Apple as everyone else that Macs were not centerstage... in '04 and '05.

We're rounding out '06 and that argument hasn't held water since last year.

It's been ALL about Mac in '06

He he... I told you this would get emotional! :)

And by the way, you may want to look up "cash cow" in the dictionary. It has nothing to do with a product representing the MAJORITY of a company's income.

do you need to have a zillion gigabites free to use time machine in a decent way?

for example, if you have a 1 gigabite film, and u delete it 'putting it in the trash, and empty trash', it's still going to be on your hard drive, taking up space, right? and will it also save your cookies, bookmarks, deleted programs,

i rarely delete stuff by accident...so i hope this can be turned off, and won't interrupt much of my normal workflow, the way things are deleted now.

I'll laugh my ass off when Apple do announce iPhone 5 at WWDC.

LOL @ all the false rumours.
We'll all laugh at you when it doesn't :). There could a miracle surprise at the very end, but I'm 99% sure that Apple needs to deal with the ageing iOS and improve all of their current products. Again, this would put it one step ahead of Androids honeycomb.
