See if it works with Final Vinyl, a free download
http://www.griffintechnology.com/software/
that I've used to transfer analog recordings to AIFF, which is workable with both Garageband and iTunes. There are other downloads here too.
I've used a Griffin iMic for USB input, but I've also used a basic RCA to 1/8" mini y converter into the sound input jack. It made no practical difference.
The software has some filtering options.
I've only used Garageband so far for making my own music tracks so I'm not sure what to tell you about that.
edit: Audacity software as well here:

Po'Trubia Needs YOU! Sign Up and join the battle...A highly addictive and very challenging game.
Take control of Stan (STatic Alien Neutraliser) to defend the last PoTrubian world from the evil Sleevils.
He's a rusty and battered retired robot but still packs a punch when he's called back to duty by the gentle Po'Trubians.
This game starts gently but don't fall into that trap - Oh no, the Sleevils will get very tough, quickly and will do everything to destroy you and then the Po'Trubians. Stan gets many weapon and feature upgrades but use them wisely or you'll be without them when a new Sleevil comes along..
This is what you'll face:
2 x games modes available to the player:
1.Campaign 20 Levels with a Sleevil Boss to defeat at the end of each 5th Level. In this mode weapons are released as the player progresses through the 20 Levels.
2.Survival None stop game play until Stan is defeated. Tip: Only those weapons and features released in the Campaign Mode will be available in Survival Mode.
To aid the defense Stan will have many powerful weapons to use against the 9 different Sleevil types and 4 Bosses. Tip: Each Weapon will have a different destructive impact on each Sleevil type.

Looks like I have another place spot to visit when i go to Australia.
I didn't know Apple store is a tourist attraction. though I must admit I went to check out the Apple Store when I went down to Sydney last year http://images.macrumors.com/vb/images/smilies/biggrin.gif hehe...
i recommend parking at the convention centre and walking through southbank. cheaper than CBD parking and less hassle!
...or you could just catch the bus.

Another one of these topics? There's already been a thread with this exact link - and people question Apple's build quality every year. Too much thermal paste is nothing new.
Personally, I doubt that the new MBPs are any worse than the older models. There will always be a few lemons when you're shipping millions of machines.

If you don't have the Track Number column selected, having the arrow point upwards on the Artist tab will have the same effect.

Thinking of my new system (Mac Pro 2.8Ghz Quad-Core) and here is what I'm thinking...tell me what's good about this, what's bad, and what could be better.
Disk 1: 128GB SSD: Boot Drive
Disk 2: 320GB Clone drive + Time Machine Backup for Disk 1
Disk 3: 2TB scratch/storage drive
Disk 4: 3TB Time Machine for Disk 3
Disk 5: 2TB clone of Disk 3. What do you think, needed?
Then, have an external drive to clone both Disk 1 and Disk 3 that will be off-site.
Main applications used are: Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, QuarkXpress
Any suggestions or other thoughts?

It will be interesting to see if the actual patent applies to just the nook color (my bet) or extends to both models.

wrong.
You can be tethered jailbroken and power down and back up without the jailbreak. You just can't have any apps installed like SBSettings. If you simply jailbreak your iPad tethered and power it down, it will come back online without the need for a computer. You will just not be jailbroken, so to rejailbreak, you need a computer to tether jailbreak it again.
Certainly not the first time I've been wrong, and likely won't be the last.. Thanks for the correction, sort of..

Now I am wondering due to some of the other posts on this board. Its for the ibook in my sig. Thanks. :D

Yeah lack of pro support is really going to depend on which professional you talk to. And I'm not meaning for that to come off as an invitation for some hypothetical statistics to support an argument. I'm just meaning to say that it comes down to opinion and personal taste and needs -- among both professionals and more casual users.
This taking of features like LaunchPad and the App Store as threats and harbingers of things to come (iPadification! Mainstreamification!) just seems humorous to me. And this "joe-sumer" and "pro-sumer" talk sounds so needlessly, off-puttingly, elitist. It makes me a bit nauseous.

I would say keep it, there is not guarantee that the dual cores are coming. I know if I sold a machine like that and found out nothing is coming till Intel... I would be a bit upset.
